With an excellent 2nd place overall Pierre Kaffer proves again his capability at the 37th

ADAC Zurich 24h-Race with an Audi R8.

The quartet Christian Abt, Jean-Francois Hemroulle, Pierre Kaffer and Lucas Luhr started the race from P4 in front of 235.000 spectators. This was a fight over 24 hours which fans on-site and millions of spectators in front of their tvs had never seen before. The challenge between the "old force", the Porsche enterd by Manthey Racing, and the "new" contenders from Ingolstadt dominated the race.

Pierre Kaffer: "This year's race was a sprint race over 24 hours. The sprint demanded a great deal of the material and the drivers. Nevertheless or exactly for this reason I enjoyed it very much this year. From the beginning we were among the top cars up front, if primary as an observer of the slugfest between the No.1 Porsche and the No.99 Audi. We have always been waiting for our chance and were in the right time at the right place. I am very pleased with the 2nd place overall, perhaps I will finally be able to get to the top of the podium next year."

After the breakdown of the at times leading Audi from Phoenix-Racing the Abt-R8 with the No.97 was the best placed Audi in the race. At the final stage of the race the Abt team was able to win a hard and long fight against the SP9-Porsche from Manthey Racing but it was not enough for the overall victory at Germany's most important motorsport event. Nevertheless all drivers with the whole team were absolutely happy about the result.

For Pierre Kaffer this 2nd place is the rerun of last year's success but this time he was hunting the Manthey Porsche with his R8.
